HAPPY 24TH BIRTHDAY ARNE!

Happy birthday arne! You look err ... round hahaha. We celebrated his birthday by having a family dinner at one of our favorite chinese restaurant -- Big Mao.

I made a mistake by bringing my 50mm lens instead of my zoom lens so all of the pictures here are kinda zoom in especially the foods (because I'm bad at food photography haha).

Corn and crab soup.

My personal favorite: Mixed seafood hotpot with beancurd.

Yang chow fried rice.

Pan fried noodles with seafood.

Beer battered prawns.

Shanghai roll.

Personal favorite: Bacon wrapped.

Crispy fried chicken (too dry!)

Then we went to La Vie Parisienne to have wine and pizza.

FIRST REAL KOREAN FOOD EXPERIENCE

Everyone I know is fussing about how delicious korean food is, so I had to try it for myself. The funny thing was, for the whole meal, I was just saying "I don't know if I'm doing this right and I don't know what I'm eating but I'm eating it anyway". I tried not to be ignorant for the whole course but failing. I don't know how to eat the korean way (I sound stupid lol).

For me, the food was pretty decent but not grand. I don't really get the fuss but maybe its not just my preference. I still love japanese food though. I like the bulgogi (not in the picture -- it feels like stir fry) and the meat sauce (the orange one which was sweet). I'm not a fan of kimchi because its too chili for me.

Samgyeopsal (pork meat) and beef strips.

I forgot the name of this soup.

Korean food is good though because they use a lot of vegetables in their dishes. You have the choice to eat the meat with rice or wrap the meat with vegetables.

The only downside of this korean restaurant is they didn't put it in their menu/banner that every person should order meat (more like eat all you can per person payment but not eat all you can). I tried korean food before but it was only korean chicken from chosun which I really like. To those korean food fans out there, sorry if you feel offended that I didn't like the food that much but its only my preference. To boayo! :)

celebration

VENUS' LATE CELEBRATION

My best friend, Venus' boyfriend promised her that they will celebrate her graduation and board exam passing when he goes on vacation here in Cebu. Being a businessman, he rarely has a chance to go on vacation so it was a blessing for the both of them that yesterday was the start of his one week vacation. We went to fetch him at the airport at around 2PM. We got stuck in traffic so I dropped them off at around 4:45PM at their hotel, Quest Hotel. Me and my sister waited for them at Ayala, Happy Lemon.

See their height difference? Lol. The dinner celebration was held at Cafe Laguna, Ayala.

Gata-ang (coconut) shrimp. I love the broth because gata is my favorite. :)

After dinner, we went to shop for awhile.

Since its Mimi's new iphone, we just had to make use of it. Funny that me and Paul had the same agenda in mind, looking for any evidence in her phone if she really is dating someone new hahaha.

We went to Family KTV, Crossroads to grant Venus' favorite past time -- karaoke. We only chugged a few beers though (yay for improvement. Good bye drunken days lol).
